Which bin to use

You must put everything that can be recycled into the right bin - otherwise the crew won't pick it up.

Not books or paper with a metallic finish

Green food bin
  • Food waste, raw or cooked
Brown lid bin
  • Garden waste eg hedge clippings, grass cuttings

Does the council collect used batteries?

We collect used batteries with your fortnightly paper recycling.

Just put them in a clear plastic bag on top of your black box.

If you have paper or cardboard that won't fit into your box

Put it into another box and leave it out next to your black box.

How to recycle other waste

What can't be recycled

Place the following items in the green lid rubbish bin:
