Car parks in Shepway
Information and advice relating to car parks in the district
Some areas in Shepway are 'controlled zones', where parking is for permit holders only, you have to pay to park or you can only stay for a limited time. The hours and rates for on-street parking are different depending on the area, so check when you park.
If you live or have a business in a controlled zone, you can get a parking permit to park there for a year.
Most council car parks are pay and display between 08:00 and 18:00 daily. It's usually free to park outside these times. Sandgate Road Car Park is usually locked at 21:00 hours unless there is an event.
All pay and display ticket machines accept 5p, 10p, 20p, 50p, £1 and £2 coins. They don't give change. You can also pay by phone or by using a credit or debit card. Details are next to the ticket machine.
If you regularly use a council car park, you can apply for a car park season ticket.
