Thanks to Sandgate school children

Pupils at Sandgate Primary School have been rewarded for their artistic talents after responding to a call to create pictures of their dream home.

Folkestone-based construction company Jenner, which is building new affordable homes in partnership with Shepway District Council in Military Road, Sandgate, asked the youngsters to come up with their ideas to brighten up the hoarding around the site.

Under the watchful eye of Year 5 Art Leader, Catherine Thomas, the pupils, whose ages ranged from seven to 11, produced a display of fairy tale castles, homes on stilts, houses with sundecks and dungeons, roof gardens and some more practical designs.

Cllr Alan Ewart-James, Cabinet Member for Housing, visited them in December to present the school for £200 to spend on art equipment.
