Publicising your application

You'll also need to:

  • display a notice of application at your premises (the standard notice is included with the application form); and,
  • give notice to your local newspaper.

This gives local residents and businesses a 28 day period in which to read your proposal and make representations if they wish.

Send a copy of your application to the police

You'll need to do this within seven days of submitting your application.

Check the list of responsible authorities for contact details.

What happens next?

We'll aim to process your application in 5 working days and if there are no representations at the end of the 28 day representation period, we'll issue your licence 24 hours later.

If there are representations, the Licensing Sub-Committee will hold a hearing, which you'll be invited to attend where they'll grant or reject your application.

We'll write to you to confirm the decision and tell you what you can do if you wish to appeal.
