Community funding

We have a community funding scheme to support the development of projects across the district

What is the Ward Budget scheme?

Each of the 30 Councillors are allocated a 'ward budget' of up to £3,000 to spend on community projects in their ward.

The Ward Budget scheme will re-open in May 2018

The Member Ward Budget scheme is currently closed for applications. The scheme will re-open in May 2018.

Who can apply for funding?

Community organisations that are located in the district, or have a strong connection with the area, can apply for the ward budget.

These include:

  • Town and parish councils with a community tax of less than £21,000 a year
  • Community interest companies
  • Registered charities
  • Community and voluntary groups

Community groups can contact their ward councillor to apply for this funding.
