What we do

The health and safety team respond to various enquiries and incident notifications

Our duty

We have a legal duty to enforce health and safety law, which means we have to make sure that work premises are safe for:

  • employees
  • contractors
  • members of public

We carry out routine health and safety inspections of high risk businesses as part of this duty.

Other proactive project work is also carried out as instructed by the Health and Safety Executive or from local intelligence.

Reporting health and safety issues to us

Businesses

Businesses must report accidents at work that fall into certain categories.

All fatalities and serious injuries will be investigated.
