Citizens' Panel
The Shepway Citizens’ Panel provides feedback on specific issues and how services could be improved.
The 1,100 strong panel is made up of Shepway residents and mirrors the adult population in terms of age, gender, geographical distribution, etc. The Panel was recruited and is run by SMSR Ltd, consultants who have a number of years experience in this work.
Members of the panel are consulted by postal or telephone surveys up to five or six times a year on district-wide issues. Sometimes we carry out consultation with other organisations which means fewer surveys and lower research costs.
Use of the Panel supplements the many regular and one-off surveys that have been a feature of the council’s approach to monitoring and developing services in line with users and residents’ needs.
The Panel has provided views about residents’ priorities for making Shepway a better area in which to live. Their views have helped shape the priorities set out in the Shepway Community Strategy.
For more information on how the Panel's views have helped improve things see our consultation page.
