If you are looking for funding to carry out a project or event that will have a postive impact on the quality of life of residents in the district, then this page is a good starting point. The links below take you directly to some of the main funders:

  • Awards for All - lottery grants programme aimed at local communities
  • Lottery Funding - the good causes portal
  • Kent Community Foundation - a philanthropic organisation aimed at funding community initiatives
  • Rural Revival - provides small grants to projects that encourage employment and community involvement in rural areas of Kent
  • Channel Corridor Partnership - a SEEDA funded public/private partnership that aims to achieve sustainable economic prosperity in the local authority districts of Maidstone, Ashford and Shepway

If you are looking to get involved in regeneration in Shepway, then the following are just a handful of organisations that might be worth contacting:

  • CASE-Kent. (Community Action South East Kent) - a local development agency offering support, information, advice and training to voluntary and community groups. It also recruits volunteers. Can be contacted on 01303 240957.
  • Shepway Volunteer Centre - recruits volunteers for voluntary/community organisations and its own direct services. Promotes volunteering and supports volunteers. Provides voluntary transport service, befriending service, and gardening/DIY services to aged, frail, disabled, and socially isolated residents in the Shepway area.

  • Action with Communities in Rural Kent - aims to improve the quality of life of local communities, particularly for disadvantaged people, and to facilitate the development of thriving, diverse and sustainable communities in Rural Kent.
  • Hawkinge Partnership - a government-funded intiative to improve public service provision in Hawkinge. It is overseen by a board comprising of local residents and service providers. It also recruits volunteers from the local area to get involved with an array of exciting community projects. Can be contacted on 01303 858663.
