CAR PARKSPay and DisplayMost of the public car parks managed by Shepway District Council are Pay and Display. Details of charging periods and rates are given in the table below. Coach Parking
All Pay and Display car park ticket machines accept 5p 10p 20p 50p £1 and £2 coins. Please use the correct money as the machines do not give change.
Shepway District Council now offer the option of paying by phone using a debit or credit card in all of their Pay and Display car parks - details are displayed close to the ticket machine. Hours of OperationCharges apply in all the Council's Pay and Display car parks daily throughout the year between 08:00 and 20:00. Outside these hours, and all day at the small number of free car parks, parking is free of charge. The Leas Cliff Hall car park, Folkestone, normally closes at 21:00 except on days when there is an evening performance at the Leas Cliff Hall when the car park closes at midnight. Overnight PaymentHotel guests and overnight visitors can buy a ticket from the Pay and Display machines at any time during the day. Any unexpired time remaining after 20:00 will be carried over to the next day and may be used to pay for parking after 08:00. Charges from 1 April 2010:
One Year £500 A season ticket may be used only for the vehicle specified. If you change your vehicle, or the season ticket is lost or stolen, there is a £5.00 administration fee for the issue of a replacement. Applications for season tickets can be made online here, or telephone 01303 853380 for an application form. Shepway Car Park Residents PermitsFrom 1 April 2010 a permit will be available to all residents of Shepway, allowing them to park in any SDC operated car park for up to two hours in a short stay car park, or three hours in a long stay car park. The cost is £50 a year. Applications can be made online here, or telephone 01303 853690 for an application form. Blue Badge HoldersBlue Badge holders may park in any bay in the car parks, although most car parks include some designated bays for Blue Badge holders. Provided that a valid badge is clearly displayed with the time of arrival indicated on the accompanying clock, the vehicle may park free of charge for up to three hours. As resources allow, the Council intends to improve facilities for disabled people at its car parks, by improving the standard and number of disabled parking bays.
