Main ContentCar Parks Free for Christmas
Christmas shoppers are being given an early Christmas present by Shepway Council - free parking in the run up to the big day. Free parking will be offered at the council's 20 pay and display car parks on the busiest trading days before Christmas, Saturday 19, Sunday 20 and Christmas Eve, in a bid to relieve some of the stress that comes with festive shopping. Cllr Robert Bliss, Leader of Shepway District Council, said he was delighted to be able to offer free parking which he believes will be welcomed by residents and visitors alike. "We hope this will ease some of the stress of Christmas shopping by making it easier to park in Shepway and allowing shoppers to take their time in choosing gifts rather than having to rush about to avoid a parking ticket." We know that during these difficult financial times, Christmas can be stressful and we're hoping to make things a little easier for everyone. It's a small, but heartfelt Christmas gesture from the council which we also hope will be a way of rewarding people for shopping locally. Created : Tue,08 Dec 2009 Updated : - |
