Main ContentCourse hailed a successTwelve local taxi drivers were presented with certificates on Thursday (28 May) after successfully completing a 12-week NVQ course. They were the first in Kent to be offered the chance to gain a Level 2 NVQ qualification in Road Passenger and Vehicle Driving. The course was run by Croydon Skills and Enterprise College on behalf of Train to Gain and was supported by Shepway District Council whose licensing officer, Wayne Fitter, encouraged drivers to take part. The course builds on the competences that many of the drivers already have and use every day. It covers areas of passenger health and safety, dealing with difficult customers, customer service, driver licensing, vehicle licensing and current traffic legislation. The council will recognise drivers who have gained the NVQ by including the qualification on their drivers' badge. Created : Fri,29 May 2009 Updated : - |
