- Most of the parks are open permanently, and the Lower Leas Coastal Park has a warden at all times during daylight hours. Seabourne Way at Dymchurch is the only park that is locked overnight.
- All of our parks at Shepway District Council have a safety surface, usually wet pour, tiles or bark, except in the case of the Coastal Park at Folkestone which has Sand.
- All of the parks (equipment and surface) comply with EN1177 & EN1176 regulations.
- All sites are inspected weekly by ROSPA trained personnel.
Blenheim Drive Park
Suitable for children aged 6-12 years old
This is a small play area with a play unit and a small slide. Blenheim Drive is in central Hawkinge, off of Aerodrome Road.
Densole Way Park
Suitable for children aged 6-12 years old
This is a medium size play area with a see-saw, spring rocker, seat swings, and a small climbing frame, and is suitable for children aged 6-12 years old. Its location is in Densole (in Densole Way), behind the Post Office and opposite the Caravan Park.
The Meadows Park
Suitable for children of ages 4-12 years old
The Meadows park has a roundabout, spring rockers, sea-saw, small play unit with a slide, cradle swings and bench seating. When coming from Folkestone on Canterbury Road, the park can be found by turning right at the first set of traffic lights (onto Harvest way).
Mitchell Drive Park
Suitable for older children of ages 6-15 years old
Mitchell Drive is a large park catering for older children of ages 6-15 years old. There is a Tyre Zip Line, a Teenage Shelter, and a large Climbing Play Unit. The parks location is off of Canterbury Road on the right (just past the shops, down The Street). Turn down Mill Lane (first turning off of The Street on your right) and you will see the park on your left through the trees.
Millfields Park
Suitable for children of ages 4-7 years old
This is a small play area with a play unit and slide. The parks location is off of The Street (a right-turning off of Canterbury Road, just past the shops), and the park is near the end of this street, down a road on the right called Millfield.
St. Luke's Walk Park
Suitable for children of ages 4-7 years old
St. Luke's Walk is a small park with cradle swings, a mini round-a-bout and a small climbing frame. To find the park go to the very end of Aerodrome Road (past all the roundabouts and round the corner at the end) and turn right onto Siskin Close, and this will lead you to St. Luke's Walk where the park can be seen on your left.
Stombers Lane Park
Suitable for children aged 6-12 years old
This park features a tyre swing, seat swings and a play unit with a slide. There is a surrounding green area which is good for general play. The park is through the pathway on the right-hand bend at the very end of The Street.
Uphill Park
Suitable for children of ages 4-7 and 6-12 years old
Uphill Park is a large facility for children of ages 4-7 and 6-12 years old. There are both cradle and seat swings, rockers and a large play unit with a slide. The park is in the new part of Hawkinge, off of Spitfire Way (New Hawkinge Bypass). Turn down Swann Lane at the Mayfly Pub roundabout, and then turn right onto Heron Forstal Avenue, and right again onto De Havilland Close.
The Gym Trail
Suitable for teenagers and adults
The gym trail is an innovative idea, providing a facility to work-out in an outdoor environment. You will find a sit-up pad, balancing beams, and monkey bars- all built primarily out of wood. The location is in a green area at the end of Widgeon Walk (located at the end of Heron Forstal Avenue- a right turning off of Swann Lane, which is at the Mayfly Pub roundabout on Spitfire Way on the new Hawkinge bypass).

Pannell Drive Park
Suitable for children of ages 6-12 years
This park is a good facility, with a large play unit featuring a large slide, climbing cargo nets, a climbing wall and a fireman's pole. It is surrounded by a large green area and is enclosed by the neighbourhoods of Pannell Drive, Proctor Walk and Orr Close. You can access the park on foot through Orr Close, via Eckford Close (at the very end of Aerodrome Road), or by car/foot by taking the following route and parking at Pannell Drive: Turn off at Haven Drive at the first roundabout on Aerodrome Road, turn right at the next roundabout onto Pannell Drive and then straight over or left at the last roundabout, and you will see the large green area and the park.
Cricketer's Close
Suitable for older children of ages 9-15 years and teenagers
This is a large green area with a football pitch and is ideal for older children and teenagers. It's location is adjacent to Hawkinge Cricket Club, at the end of Canterbury Road, down a right hand turning called The Street. Go right to the end of The Street and there is a left hand turning which is Cricketer's Close, then take your immediate left and you will see the open space directly infront of you.
