Surgery closure on the agenda
The proposed closure of the Park Street doctor's surgery in Lydd will be considered as a matter of urgency by Shepway Council's Community Overview Committee on Tuesday (11 November).
The chairman of the committee, Cllr David Godfrey, agreed it could be added to the agenda after a request by Cllrs Lynne Beaumont, Tim Prater, Peter Carroll, Tom McNeice and Val Loseby.
The five councillors want the committee to look at the issues surrounding the closure of the surgery and specifically to review the consultation process used by Eastern and Coastal Kent Primary Care Trust before it proposed the closure.
The meeting, which is open to the public, starts at 6.00pm at the Civic Centre, Castle Hill Avenue, Folkestone.
