Welcome to the Shepway District Council's Business Webpages.

Shepway is a district of considerable contrasts and character, both in terms of its economy and environment. With Folkestone as the urban focus, the district also encompasses the picturesque towns of Hythe, New Romney and Lydd as well as extensive rural areas of the North Downs and the Romney Marsh.

As home to the Channel Tunnel and London Ashford Airport at Lydd, Shepway offers business a location within touching distance of mainland Europe. At the same time, the excellent internal transport infrastructure ensures easy access to London. Indeed, the arrival of High Speed Rail Link in 2009, Folkestone will be less than an hour away from the Capital.

Compared to average prices in South East England, commercial rents are competitive, housing is affordable and wages are lower, giving a high quality workforce and business location at good value.
