The charge is either £50 or £70 depending on the contravention but if payment is made within 14 days, the charge is reduced by 50%. Methods of payment are printed on the reverse of the PCN. The registered owner or keeper of a vehicle is responsible for the PCN, even if they were not the driver of the vehicle at the time of contravention. If the appeal is received within 14 days of the date the PCN was served, the charge will be held at the reduced rate while the initial appeal is being considered.
