CAR PARKSPay and DisplayMost of the public car parks managed by Shepway District Council are Pay and Display. Details of charging periods and charging rates are given in the table below. CAR PARK CHARGES - DAILY FROM 08.00 TO 20.00 (* From 10.00 to 20.00 at Jolly Fisherman)
All Pay and Display car park ticket machines accept 5p 10p 20p 50p £1 and £2 coins. Please use the correct money as Pay and Display machines do not give change. Season tickets are also available for use in all long-term car parks and may be purchased by contacting the Parking Services office (see below). Telephone 01303 853380 for an application form. Applications for season tickets can also be made online here. A season ticket can be used only for the vehicle specified. If you change your vehicle a £5.00 administration fee for the issue of a new season ticket is payable. Coach Parking
Disabled Blue Badge HoldersBlue Badge holders may park in any bay in the car parks, although most car parks include some designated bays for disabled blue badge holders. Provided that the blue badge is clearly displayed with the time of arrival indicated on the accompanying clock, the vehicle may park free of charge for up to three hours. As resources allow, the Council intends to improve facilities for disabled people at its car parks, by improving the standard and number of disabled parking bays. Coach ParkingCoach parking is available at Dymchurch Central and Coast Drive, Littlestone. CCTVCCTV coverage is used in Foresters Way, Leas Cliff Hall, Lower Sandgate Road West, Rotunda, Tram Road and Upper Payers car parks. Hours of OperationAll the Council's Pay and Display car parks (see table below for details) charge daily throughout the year between 08.00 and 20.00, except for the Jolly Fisherman at Greatstone where charges apply between 10.00 and 20.00. Outside these hours, and all day at the small number of free car parks, parking is free of charge. Please note that the Leas Cliff Hall, Folkestone car park normally closes at 21.00, except on days when there is an evening performance at the Leas Cliff Hall when it closes at midnight. Overnight PaymentHotel guests and overnight visitors can buy a ticket from the Pay and Display machine at any time during the day. Any time remaining after 20.00 will be carried over to the next day and may be used to pay for parking after 08.00.
