Construction sites

The pollution team at Shepway District Council is responsible for the investigation of complaints concerning noise from construction sites across the district.

It is recognised that constructing new developments is likely to cause a certain amount of noise to residents. Shepway District Council has developed a Construction Site Noise Policy to assist contractors in minimising disturbance.

Where residential occupiers are likely to be affected by noise, the hours of noisy works are normally restricted to:-

Monday to Fridays - 8am - 6pm

Saturday - 8am - 1pm
Sunday and Bank Holidays - No noisy activities on site
