CDRP Audits and Strategies

PDF  Print  E-mail

pagesIn 1999, the first multi-agency Crime and Disorder Strategy for Shepway was published. It was based on a comprehensive audit of crime levels and patterns and other associated information such as school truancy levels, neighbourhood nuisance, poor housing conditions, etc. Extensive public consultation (3000 residents, 250 groups/organisations) was also carried out prior to its publication.

A range of targets and objectives were set for Shepway as a whole and for the 4 specific 'hot spot' areas of the district which showed up as having the highest levels of problems. Primary objectives were set to target and reduce local crime, disorder and anti-social behaviour by a co-ordinated and multi-agency approach.
