Strategic Housing

A safe and affordable place to live is a basic right. The Council is required by statute to develop and produce both a Homeless Strategy and a Housing Strategy. These documents set out our aims and objectives to tackle homelessness and address the housing needs of the area, working with partners and targeting our resources where they will be most effective. We work closely with Government Office for theSouth East and the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister to ensure that our priorities are in line with regional and national priorities.

The Council also works in partnership with five preferred partner Housing Associations and the Housing Corporation to develop affordable housing in the district.
