Sheltered housing schemes

Further improvements to our warden call alarm systems for all sheltered housing schemes in Shepway are being carried out. We are also looking to provide improved storage facilities for electric scooters. Stairwell windows at Romney Marsh House at Dymchurch will be upgraded and new communal doors are scheduled for Win Pine House and Churchill Court in Hythe. CCTV will be installed at Green Court in Folkestone.

Much of the environmental works is concentrating on improving footpaths and parking such as on The reen in Lydd,Rolfe Lane and Marsh Crescent in New Romney where footpaths will be resurfaced and The Beach Flats in Hythe for which new pathways are being installed.

Improved parking facilities are on line for Upstreet Flats in Etchinghill,Newlands in St.Mary 's Bay and St.Georges Place in Hythe where more offstreet parking is being created.

The programme includes a further phase for the Planning for Real in Millfield, Hawkinge and Phase 5 for Planning for Real in Reachfields, Hythe, anti-flooding works to a limited number of properties in West Place,Brookland.

Estate improvements are for Spring Lane and Eversley Road area of Seabrook which will also include a further contribution towards a Play Area there;and at Derville House,Rolfe Lane and Wiles House in New Romney.

Improvements to pumping stations and wastewater treatment plants are also planned.
