If you already live in Registered Social Landlords (formerly Housing Association) or Council accommodation, you can move into other accommodation inside or outside the district, managed by Coast and Countryside Housing Services, by other local authorities or by Registered Social Landlords (formerly Housing Association)s.
If you want to move you need to have:
- Kept your home in good condition;
- A clear rent account;
- Been living in your present home for at least one year; and
- Lived in Shepway for at least three years to be eligible for a Council property.
We will give you points on the Shepway housing list (see points information below). Where applicants have the same number of points, the number of years that they have lived within Shepway would then be taken into account.
We will write to you every 12 months, asking you if you want to stay on the housing list and if your circumstances have changed. You must fill in and return the form straight away or we will remove your name from the housing list.
You must let us know about any change in your circumstances. It is important you return the form if you want to stay on the list.
You can get an application form from:-
- The Shepway Housing Centre, 3 to 5 Shorncliffe Road, Folkestone CT20 2QY.
- The Council's District Offices at Hythe or Lydd;
- The One-Stop Shop at New Romney; or
- Your Registered Social Landlords (formerly Housing Association).
You can also phone Customer Services at the Shepway Housing Centre on
01303 851700.
