Council Housing - Home Adaptations
Adpatations to your home can improve your quality of life if you or a member of your household has a disability or special need. The council's housing service is committed to meeting the needs of its residents by carrying out essential adaptations to their homes so that they can enjoy independence, privacy and dignity.
A substantial budget is set aside every year as part of the improvement programme to pay for adaptations. These can range from simple grabrails to level-access shower rooms.
We work closely with Social Services and the KCC Occupational Therapy (OT) Bureau, who recommend and specify all adaptations required. We install equipment and adaptations to the OT Bureau's specifications.
