PDF  Print  E-mail

Council Tax

Council tax helps to fund local services including rubbish collection, schools, libraries, cleaner streets, area regeneration and police and fire services.

It is a property-based charge with one bill for each household. The amount payable depends on where you live, the number of adults in your household and which band your property is put into by the Valuation Office Agency. The band set for your property is shown on your council tax bill.

Please click on the links below for details of the current council tax rates and where your money goes.

You can also find out if you are eligible for an exemption, a discount, and/or council tax benefit.
