Main ContentUnpaid work placements on suitable projects
The probation service welcomes offers of unpaid work placements on suitable projects. With the launch of Community Payback, communities now have the opportunity to influence the type of work offenders carry out in their neighbourhoods. The aim is to make the unpaid work performed by offenders more visible and more representative of the communities' needs. Typical projects include gardening, landscaping, painting and decorating and minor building maintenance. Each team is overseen by a supervisor from Probation. The Community Payback link is designed to help direct members of the public to the appropriate website/contact information for the community in which they live, in order to allow them to suggest projects and placements. The link to obtain further information and access this service is Community Payback or www.probation.homeoffice.gov.uk/output/Page332.asp Created : Tue,01 May 2007
