Moving Home when claiming Housing and Council Tax Benefit

When you are in receipt of Housing and/or Council Tax Benefit and you move house, you have certain responsibilities in respect of that benefit. Therefore, if you move home or know that you will be moving home you must contact us immediately.

What you must do

When moving home and claiming benefit you must do the following:

• Tell us of the move as soon as you can. This will help to stop any possible overpayments that could arise.
• Complete a Change of Address claim form. You can book an appointment through our Customer Services Team (01303 853555) or complete and return the form with your new signed Tenancy Agreement.
• You must also declare any other changes in your circumstances.

 You must notify us of any change within one month of the change occuring.
