Main ContentOccupational health and safety inspectionsShepway District Council has a duty to enforce health and safety at work legislation under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. There are around 2,500 premises in the district where this legislation applies.
The council's commercial team routinely inspects premises involved with retail or wholesale, hotel and catering, sports and leisure, residential accommodation (excluding nursing homes), places of worship, pre-school childcare and mobile vending.
