Ways to pay
Online payments
You can make your payments for services online via our secure online payment system.
By cash
From 1st December 2009 you can pay at any outlet displaying the Pay Point or Post Office sign.
Please take your card or invoice with you each time you make a payment so that the outlet can scan your card or the barcode printed on your bill. If you are making a payment of more than £200 we would ask you to use a Post Office rather than a shop as their transaction limits are higher. The Post Office also accepts payments by cheque (cheques should be made payable to 'The Post Office'). You will not be charged for this service.
Please note: From 1st December 2009 we will no longer take cash or cheques over the counter at out Civic Centre in Folkestone or our One Stop Service in New Romney.
By debit or credit card
You may pay by most debit and credit cards by telephoning
01303 853555. From early December this will be a 24 hour payment line. There is no charge for payments by Debit Card but there is a 1.5% charge on every transaction made by Credit Card. Please ensure you have your invoice number to hand when making a payment.
By direct debit
Payment by this method is recommended to you if you have a bank account. To make arrangements to pay by direct debit contact Revenues and Benefits Services on
01303 853304 or 853555.
By post
Crossed cheques or postal orders should be made payable to SHEPWAY DISTRICT COUNCIL and sent to Shepway District Council, PO Box 402, Folkestone, Kent CT20 2GF. Please send your remittance and ensure that your name, address and business rate account number, are written clearly on the back of your cheque.
