The Theatres Act 1968 requires that no premises may be used for the public performance of any play without the benefit of a licence granted by the Licensing AuthorityCinemas and Theatres are now licenced under the Licensing Act 2003 and require a Premises Licence for exhibition of films and regulation of public entertainment.
